Weekend Update

I'm posting this entry as public, which is not my normal M.O., because I met some very cool people this weekend and would like to say thanks to them all.

I was in DC for the wedding of some friends that I have known online for several years. I finally got to meet them this weekend for the wedding. I also got to meet other online friends this weekend as well. It was really great getting to actually be around y'all and hang out. I've been so sad at missing all the events in the past that would've allowed me to meet everyone and this way I didn't have to also try and avoid the people I don't want to meet or be around at the same time either.

Friday after arriving at the airport (thankfully as Houston security didn't like the fact there was a giant wrench in my bag so I of course was detained. I also was treated to the whole area seeing my bras and panties as they went through all my stuff. joy!) and being found by three scary internet people with ease :) there was dinner and magaritas. Later that night, I was the honorary male at the bachelor festivities. Much alcohol was consumed by all but the Groom and The Best Man were Alive and Not in Jail the next day so we skated in under the wire of acceptable. I think.

Saturday we attended the wedding. It was lovely. The bride was beautiful and the groom was not shabby himself. The reception spot was awesome. Even with the heels I was wearing, I enjoyed wandering the gardens until dinner time. The weather out there is fab. I wish it was like that here :) At the reception we were seated with internet folk. The scary internet table had so much fun. I really wish that y'all weren't so far flung. It'd be great to get to see you more often. The dancing started off a bit slow but by the time the YMCA came on we had all had turns on the dance floor. I saw people dancing I never expected to and that always makes for a good time.

After the reception it was back to the hotel to change and hang out in the girl room. Of course the girl room was also the every person room as they had all the booze. Once the room started filling up and we all had stories of Koalas and Whips (you only think I'm going to explain that) rebelzero and mattressgnome mentioned the dancing and out! going. I was so down with that plan I changed again (Yes that'd be three outfits in one day. Such a girl!) and came along. The Black Cat fucking rocks. I have to say I am entirely jealous that we have no such dance clubs here. It was fantastic to get to dance to something other than hip hop or country for a change. Also mattressgnome was sporting a bright blue shirt and orange tie to the wedding... we actually found a girl wearing a blue top and an orange skirt at the club so he had to dance in their general direction of course. :) The cab drivers were insane. We made it back to the hotel alive. BONUS! I got to see some sights while we were driving around. I really wish I had more time in DC I didn't get to do anything touristy at all. :(

Back at the room the guys were already sacked out so I quickly tried to become one of the sleeping folks. Unfortunately the baby in the room next to me had a fever (go go gadget mom ears) and was crying pretty much the whole time. No sleep FOR YOU!

And then we picked up the naked fat man, put him in the office chair and left.

Weekend count-
Alcohol content: High
Food content: Low (I realized last night driving home from the airport I got three meals total the entire weekend)
Sleep content: Pretty much non-existant
Friend content: New! Yay!
Crazy cab drivers: Qty 2

(Clickie, that ending is just for you!)
